Summer in the Moomin Valley
Day 1: Arrival in Helsinki. City tour of Helsinki.
Arrival in Helsinki. Accommodation in a 4 * hotel in the city center.
11:30 – 13:30 – City tour of Helsinki. You will get acquainted with the most interesting sights of the city. You will see the Senate Square surrounded by a unique neoclassical ensemble, in which four buildings dominate: the Cathedral, the Palace of the State Council, the main building of the University and the National Library. Monument to Alexander II, Assumption Cathedral, built in 1868, and is the largest Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe, a monument to Marshal Mannerheim and a monument to Havis Amanda – a bronze fountain designed by Ville Vallgren, was installed on the Market Square in 1908.
Day 2: Transfer to Turku. Excursion to Turku Castle.
Breakfast in the hotel. 11:00 – departure by train to Turku. Arrival in Turku at 13:00, transfer to the hotel. Things can be left in the hotel’s storage room, and we go on a journey to the Middle Ages at Turku Castle, where the solemn “initiation into the young knights” will take place.
Day 3: Visit to the country of Moomin-trolls.
Breakfast in the hotel. 10:00 meeting with a guide in the hotel lobby. You go to MummiBas to Mummi Land.
The whole island is dedicated to one fairy tale, here everything, one way or another, is connected with the history of the Moomins. Each corner of the island tells about the inhabitants of Mumi-dola. In the center of the island is a round blue tower – the Moomin House, in which Moomin-troll lives with Mumi-mama and Mumi-papa. On the bank of the river there is Snusmurik’s tent, which he puts every spring and catches fish. When he is at home, the sounds of the harmonica come from the tent. Often Snusmukrik and Moomin-troll sit on the humpback bridge and dream of distant countries, in which Snusmukrik will again go in the autumn.
Day 4: Departure home.
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the railway station of Turku. Departure home with a transfer to Helsinki.
